Tom S.
April 3, 1929 – June 17, 2023
Tom was an active member of AA for many years and also a long- time practitioner of Centering Prayer. He and Fr. Thomas were peers and good friends. Tom S attended the 12-Step 10-day retreat at Snowmass and greatly helped as we put the first 12 step Intro to Centering Prayer powerpoint together.
When it was finished in 2007 he presented it to Fr. Thomas on behalf of 12-Step Outreach with Thomas’ enthusiastic approval. It was a gift to us that he came all those years to the retreat and sat with us in Silence.
Tom also gifted us with an 11th Step Meditation Meeting format. It was the meeting format he developed and used in NY for many years. He shared the format with us in 2007 and it is now widely used at in-person and zoom meetings.
A more lasting gift is that he published the book that gives our service team its foundation. Tom was our friend, he had a big laugh and a great Spirit and will be missed by many he touched.
